Press Release from Sudan for HSC-73: Condemnation of Israel
Sudan condemns Israel for its deplorable actions in Lebanon. The bombing of civilian refugee encampments for the stated goal of “defending against the PLO” is not only unacceptable, but heinous. The plain clothes assault on an apartment complex and subsequent assassination of high members of the PLO is an attempt Israel to crush any palistinian resistance to their occupation of Arab lands. Sudan stands with its fellow members of the Arab League in condemnation of these attacks. Sudan calls all members of the Non-Aligned Movement to join in the condemnation and any of the Permanent Five of the Security Council to condemn Israel. Sudan hopes for peace in Lebanon and Palestine, but prepares for any action necessary to defend its Arab brothers in solidarity.
