Press Release from Libya in ITU

By: Libya

The Delegation of Libya is incredibly excited to announce the adoption of Resolution 1-1 by consensus in the Special Committee: International Telecommunication Union. This resolution addresses specifically the necessity of infrastructure for indigenous peoples in telecommunications, emphasizing collaboration and autonomy. The state of Libya, having a rather large indigenous population with extremely limited access to telecommunications, passionately discussed this issue. Having collaborated extensively with Member States such as Malta, Austria, Chad, Algeria, Australia and more, Libya is incredibly proud of the work produced. After working diligently with Member States such as the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea, amendments were proposed and also adopted by consensus. Without the work of the previously mentioned delegations, the resolution would not have been possible. For these reasons, Libya is eternally grateful and excited about future collaboration.
