Press Release from Germany in ITU
By: Germany
Dear Members of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU),
The German delegation, represented by Christian Edwards at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), proposes a significant resolution aimed at enhancing the telecommunication infrastructure for indigenous communities. This resolution seeks to establish a subcommittee within the ITU, focused on reducing bureaucratic complexities and integrating indigenous voices directly into its leadership.
Representative Edwards articulated the delegation’s vision, stating, “Our main resolution is looking to establish a subcommittee of the International Telecommunication Union that looks to streamline the bureaucracy, taking indigenous representation into the leadership body of the subcommittee, and then focus on working on upgrading the telecommunication infrastructure of indigenous groups, one by one with efficiency, while taking into account their needs, their desires and what they do not want from tokenization and globalization.”
This initiative represents Germany’s commitment to inclusive technological progress, ensuring that the development of telecommunication infrastructures aligns with the unique requirements and aspirations of indigenous communities
Sincerely,
Christian Edwards
Representative of the German Delegation
