GA Plen and the Global Union

a crowded press conference

Representatives from the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan and other former Soviet-bloc States held a highly attended press conference Sunday evening to highlight their recent efforts in the General Assembly Plenary. These efforts centered around formation of a union of emerging economies with the intent of developing nuclear fusion powerplants and aqueducts in these countries as part of long term efforts to combat climate change. In a lively Q&A session following their speech, the Russian Federation and its associates fielded questions around potential for fusion plants in desalination, funding expectations from signatories, their process for initial invitations to the union, and critiques of Russian military operations near existing nuclear power plants in conflict zones. After questions from attendees were exhausted, the speakers made a closing note critiquing perceived contradictions in the stance of countries with existing nuclear power who were in opposition to emerging economies pursuit of their own nuclear power programmes.
