Advice From Your Rapporteurs
Understanding the topics you are addressing and the documents you are producing throughout Conference can feel insurmountable in the face of so much content. There is a lot of information to shift through, and it can be difficult to know where to start.
With that in mind, in order to help you feel more confident in your understanding of the work you are producing here at AMUN, we have multiple resources to aid in your study:
The AMUN Handbook: The AMUN Handbook is a great resource for those looking for information relating to their committee and its specific topics. Within the chapters you will find explanations of how AMUN runs its simulations, overviews of how the United Nations operates (at large and within its relevant bodies) as well as topic briefs designed to clarify what topics your committee is addressing this year.
Your Rapporteurs: During your time at Conference there will be plenty of moments spent figuring out the direction you wish to take your work. Whether related to the document submission process or to the purview of your committee, your rapporteurs are here to help you learn. If you have a question, please feel free to approach your rapporteurs, and if we do not have the answer on hand, we will either direct you to someone who does or will get it to you as quickly as possible.
Rules and Roleplaying: Beyond helping you navigate the rules used in your simulations, the Rules and Roleplay Overview Sessions aid in your understanding of the documents you are producing in your committee. The sessions are held from 5:00-5:45 p.m. on the Saturday of Conference.
