Press Release for GA4

A Day for Peace

Written by Keegan Noll, Representative of the Holy See for GA4

The Holy See is greatly pleased by the progress being made in the General Assembly Fourth Committee on the topic of Assistance in Mine Action. The resolutions being written, especially resolutions BB and HERB work towards the common cause of recognizing human dignity, both to solve the landmine crisis and to provide assistance for the victims of it. We must remember as delegates that while we may serve the interests of our nation, we must also remember that we are citizens of God’s Kingdom, and thus must remember that we represent humanity. The Holy See believes that we must respect human dignity through our actions in committee, and thus far are pleased with what progress has been made. The Bible verse of the day is “And He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.” (Isaiah 2:4). Peace is the only way to a prosperous future, and through our work at this assembly we hope to achieve just that.
